Black Gold and the Red Gulf: Global Energy Security Behaviors After The Us/Israel-Iran War

The coordinated military operations launched by the United States of America (USA) and Israel against Iran on February 28, 2026, have led to one of the deepest crises in the history of modern diplomacy and economics. This operation, initiated on the grounds that Iran constituted an “unacceptable threat” to the global security architecture, targeted the senior command structure, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, as well as nuclear facilities and ballistic missile infrastructure. This military move not only ignited the fuse of a regional conflict; it also created an asymmetric global shockwave that fundamentally shook global energy infrastructure, international supply chains, the geostrategic security paradigms of states, and most importantly, both institutional and individual consumption behaviors.
