An Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov is paying an official visit to Syria.
According to Trend News Agency, the visit is being carried out under the directive of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and aims to explore opportunities for supporting Syria’s development in various fields such as economy, oil and gas industry, energy, culture, and education. It follows humanitarian assistance extended to Syria’s new administration in January this year. The President of the Syrian Arab Republic for the transitional period, Ahmed al-Sharaa, received the Azerbaijani delegation. The delegation also held meetings with Syrian Foreign Minister Asad Hasan al-Shibani, Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar, Minister of Energy Mohammed al-Bashir, Minister of Culture Mohammed Yasin Saleh, and Minister of Education Mohammed Abdurrahman Turko.
