The 6th round of the Security Dialogue between the European Union (EU) and Azerbaijan was held in Belgium. The meeting was co-chaired by the Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the President of Azerbaijan and Vice President Hikmet Hajiyev and Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service Olaf Skoog.
Commenting on the talks on the social media platform X, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as its permanent representative to the EU Vaqif Sadiqov said that the meeting was fruitful and the sides discussed current cooperation and future partnership opportunities in a comprehensive manner. “We discussed a wide range of issues in the field of politics and security in an open and constructive atmosphere. The dialogue was a natural continuation of the recent high-level EU-Azerbaijan contacts in Malta, Baku, Brussels and Tirana. Given the dynamic nature of bilateral, regional and global processes, regular and targeted exchanges are even more important,” Sadiqov said, adding that the visit also included extensive meetings with high-level representatives from EU institutions and member states, including the host Belgium.
