The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel said that the EU is not at war and will not fight, but the community needs to increase its defence capabilities.

“There is a war in the east of Europe and it does not look like it will end,” the EU diplomatic chief said in an interview with the La Sexta television channel. – “Europeans must realise that the peace created between us is an exception. “The world is a violent world,” he said. “We are not at war and we will not be,” Borrell said, adding that the EU should consider increasing its defence capacity.
“If we were at war, we would be talking about a third world war,” the diplomat said.
