Georgian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Sustainability Levan Davitashvili met with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and discussed strengthening trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Davitashvili, who is in Qatar on an official visit, said: “We had a very productive meeting with the Prime Minister of Qatar in the fields of investments, tourism and trade. The Qatari government has a very positive attitude towards Georgia. We expect high-level bilateral visits to take place this year, which will further strengthen our economic partnership.” The Georgian delegation, led by Davitashvili, is attending the Fifth Qatar Economic Forum, organized under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and with the support of Bloomberg. Stating that economic and investment cooperation with the Gulf countries is a priority for Georgia, Davitashvili said, “Qatar stands out as an important partner. In 2024, investments from Qatar to Georgia amounted to about 50 million dollars, and we expect this figure to increase,” Davitashvili said.
