Speaker of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova met with President of the Spanish Senate Pedro Rollán within the framework of her official visit to the Kingdom of Spain.
According to the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Pedro Rollán expressed great importance to the development of relations between the parliaments of the two countries. Rollán also highly appreciated the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Spain in the energy and transportation sectors. Speaker of the Milli Mejlis Sahiba Gafarova, in her turn, noted that Azerbaijan and Spain successfully cooperate in various fields, especially in the economy. Gafarova noted that there are ample opportunities for the development of cooperation between the two countries in other areas as well. Noting that Azerbaijan-Spain political relations have recently gained momentum, Gafarova recalled the visit of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to Azerbaijan within the framework of COP29 and the agreements reached during his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev. Pedro Rollán expressed his satisfaction with the excellent organization of COP29, which he attended together with members of the Senate. During the meeting, the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation was emphasized. In this context, mutual parliamentary delegation visits are of great importance. The sides also exchanged views on the establishment of cooperation between the relevant committees of the parliaments.
