During NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s expected visit to Hungary on 12 June, Budapest plans to discuss the country’s non-participation in the alliance’s mission in Ukraine.

According to the Report, this was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in an interview with the M1 TV channel.

‘In two days the NATO secretary general will be here and we will discuss with him how Hungary can refuse to participate in the NATO mission in Ukraine,’ the prime minister said.

Orban had previously said that Hungary wanted to reach an agreement with Nato that Hungary would not participate in the alliance’s military activities outside its territory, including possible operations against Russia in Ukraine.

According to the prime minister, he wants to conclude an agreement with Stoltenberg on this issue.
