A delegation from JSC ‘National Company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”’ (KTZ), led by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Yerlan Koishibayev, paid a working visit to Batumi (Georgia). As part of Samruk-Kazyna JSC’s remit to develop transport and logistics infrastructure, the delegation held a series of meetings with key Georgian partners and discussed projects related to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM).
According to the KTZ press office, during a meeting with Ms Tamar Ioseliani, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Mr David Javakhadze, Director of the Anaklia Deep-Water Port Development Agency, the parties discussed issues of strategic cooperation in detail.
A meeting was also held with the management of International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), during which issues relating to the joint infrastructure development of the Batumi International Container Terminal were discussed. ICTSI, founded in 1987 and headquartered in Manila (Philippines), is the largest international operator, managing 33 public-use container terminals across 19 countries in Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and the Middle East. The company serves the global shipping industry, including the operation of the Batumi International Container Terminal (BICT) under a concession agreement.
