Liu Zhenli, Member of the Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China and Chief of the Joint Staff Department, met with Songwit Noonpakdee, Supreme Commander of the Thai Armed Forces, in Beijing on Thursday.
The two sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including bilateral military relations and international and regional developments, the Chinese Defense Ministry said in a brief statement. As a result of the talks, the two countries reached an “important consensus” on strengthening strategic communication and deepening cooperation in joint exercises and training, it said. The visit is expected to further consolidate defense and security ties between China and Thailand.
