Uzbekistan and Gulf Cooperation Council discuss strengthening interaction

Uzbekistan and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf discussed issues of strengthening interaction between the regions.

The press service of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued a statement on Monday, Trend reported.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Casim bin Mohammed al-Budayvi.

The two sides discussed issues of further development of constructive dialogue and strengthening Uzbekistan’s interaction with the Council.

The President of Uzbekistan noted the dynamics of multilateral cooperation between the regions and praised the fruitful results of the second meeting of foreign ministers held in Tashkent.

Uzbekistan and the Council reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the first summit of Central Asian and Gulf Arab States held in Jeddah last year.

The sides also drew attention to the practical implementation of initiatives and proposals put forward by Uzbekistan in investment, trade, high technology, tourism and other areas.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the preparation of the agenda of the second summit to be held in Samarkand in 2025.
