Uzbekistan will establish an Atomic Energy Agency by decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press service of the commercial mission of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan announced, Trend reports.
‘The new structure is being created on the basis of the Agency for the Development of Atomic Energy and will be transferred from the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan to the control of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic. The Agency will act as an executive body of the republic responsible for the state policy in the field of the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes,’ it said.
In addition, the Republican Fund for the Development of Atomic Energy will be transformed into the Fund for the Development of the Atomic Energy Field, which will receive a 5 per cent dividend from the annual profit of the Uzbek Navoiuran enterprise.
