Zaparov and Putin discussed the development of the strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Russia

On 1 September, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zaparov, held talks with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, who had arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a working visit.

This was stated in a press release from the Office of the President of Kyrgyzstan.

It is reported that the parties discussed current issues relating to Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the political, trade and economic, energy and humanitarian spheres.

At the start of the meeting, President Sadyr Japarov highlighted the strategic nature of Kyrgyz-Russian relations and the high level of cooperation between the two countries.

“Our bilateral relations are built on a solid foundation and are of a strategic nature. We attach great importance to the high level of cooperation achieved with the Russian Federation and are committed to further strengthening and expanding practical cooperation,” said the Head of State.

Sadyr Zhaparov thanked President Vladimir Putin for participating in the SCO summit in Bishkek and for supporting Kyrgyzstan’s priorities during the country’s chairmanship of the Organisation.

For his part, Vladimir Putin noted the significant work carried out by Kyrgyzstan in preparing for and hosting the SCO summit, highlighting the achievements of the country’s chairmanship.
