Cooperation between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia in Economy and Trade Discussed

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with a delegation from the Republic of North Macedonia, headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Zoran Dimitrovski.

According to Trend, the meeting discussed bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, as well as regional and global events. “The parties expressed satisfaction with the recent increased dynamics of high-level visits and contacts, emphasizing the importance of the political consultation mechanism between foreign ministries to further strengthen interstate dialogue. Opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy and trade were discussed, along with the potential for expanding partnerships in traditional and renewable energy. It was also noted with satisfaction that North Macedonia has become one of the countries receiving Azerbaijani natural gas. Special attention was given to humanitarian cooperation. The importance of strengthening ties between the peoples of the two countries and developing cooperation in education, culture, and tourism was emphasized. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the delegation in detail about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the factors hindering this process. He noted that for a final peace agreement to be reached, territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Armenian Constitution must be removed, and outdated organizations like the OSCE Minsk Group should be dissolved. The meeting also included an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
