Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov and Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Bahtiyar Saidov held a telephone conversation on June 16. A statement regarding the conversation was made by the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry.
During the conversation, they discussed the security situation in the region resulting from the tension between Israel and Iran, issues related to the alliance between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and preparations for the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation scheduled for June 21–22 in Istanbul. The ministers exchanged views on current regional developments and reiterated their commitment to further deepening strategic cooperation between the two countries.
