The Canadian authorities will allocate 3 million Canadian dollars ($ 2.1 million) to Kiev for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Ukrainian territory.

APA quoted TASS news citing a statement by Canadian Minister of National Defence William Blair.

‘Canada is allocating Ukraine $ 3 million for the production of UAVs by Ukraine. For the first time, Canada is directly contributing to the production of military unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine,’ Blair said.

In addition, Canada will allocate 13 million Canadian dollars ($ 9,5 million) for the purchase of ammunition for the Ukrainian armed forces as part of the Czech initiative.

Earlier, Ottawa announced that it would transfer more than 800 SkyRanger R70 multi-purpose drones to the Ukrainian army. The cost of the aid package is estimated at 95 million Canadian dollars ($ 70 million). It is stated that UAVs can carry up to 3.5 kg of payload, including ammunition. Ottawa is expected to start transferring the drones to Kiev in the spring.
