China has reiterated its support for all efforts towards peace between Russia and Ukraine and encouraged direct dialogue between the parties. Speaking at the daily press conference on Friday, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said that China’s position on the Ukraine crisis is consistent and clear. “China hopes that all relevant parties will continue dialogue and negotiations, reach a just, lasting and binding peace agreement, and ultimately find a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis,” he said. China has previously adopted a neutral stance and presented a 12-point peace plan on the crisis, emphasizing the need to prevent the escalation of the crisis and support the search for a solution through diplomatic means.
