A signing ceremony was held in Ulan Bator’s Chingeltei district for a China-funded project under the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund (GDSSCF). The initiative will provide solar photovoltaic systems to 500 households in ger districts, reducing coal use and air pollution. Attendees included Chinese Ambassador Shen Minjuan, UNDP Resident Representative Matilda Dimovska, and Deputy Mayor Amgalanbayar Amartuvshin. Officials highlighted the project’s role in improving public health, the environment, and clean energy transition. Building on a 2024 UNDP pilot with 69 households, the project will now expand to 500 homes.
