Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev held talks with Greg Guyett, First Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), at the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The EBRD remains one of the country’s main strategic partners. In recent years, the bank has built the largest investment portfolio in the region in Uzbekistan, exceeding $7 billion. In 2025 alone, the volume of operations exceeded $1 billion, with 85% of funds directed toward supporting the private sector.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation for 2026, including the development of private business, implementation of infrastructure projects, and the introduction of digital technologies. Special emphasis was placed on initiatives aimed at improving quality of life and strengthening economic resilience — including modernization of energy infrastructure, development of water-saving and irrigation systems, digital transformation of Uzbekiston Temir Yullari, and the supply of electric buses to Nukus and Samarkand.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to intensify work on new infrastructure financing mechanisms in special economic zones and to continue engagement at international platforms.
