Kyrgyz Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov and Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev met in Russia on May 14 to discuss cooperation between the two countries. The meeting was announced by Russian Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk.
During the meeting, current cooperation in the field of security was assessed and views were exchanged on future joint projects. The sides stressed the need for closer coordination on issues such as the fight against organized crime, border security and migration policies. The ministers agreed that strengthening the relations between the interior ministries of the two countries will contribute to regional stability and security. It was also planned to take steps to increase cooperation in areas such as training programs and experience sharing.
