Kazakhstan and Binance discussed issues relating to the development of the digital economy and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

This was stated in a press release from the Kazakh government’s press service following a meeting between Jaslan Madiev, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ).

According to the report, during the meeting the parties also discussed the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and the prospects for expanding the country’s computing infrastructure.

As part of the delegation’s visit, the CryptoCity concept in the city of Alatau and the Data Centre Valley project, aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as a regional centre for AI development, were presented.

The parties also discussed the development of digital financial solutions. Information was presented on the partnership between Binance Pay and Alatau City Bank, and two memoranda of understanding were signed — one with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development and the other with the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

“The agreements signed and the infrastructure projects presented confirm Kazakhstan’s steady transition from establishing a regulatory framework to the practical implementation of digital financial solutions, the training of specialist personnel and the strengthening of the country’s status as a leading technological hub in the region,” the government’s press office stated.
