A working group from JSC “National Company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” (KTZ),” led by Deputy Chairman of the Board Yerlan Koishibayev, paid a working visit to Baku.
According to a statement from KTZ’s press service, as part of Samruk-Kazyna JSC’s efforts to develop transport and logistics infrastructure, the delegation held a series of meetings with key partners and discussed projects related to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM).
In particular, as part of KTZ’s ongoing efforts to build an external terminal network along the TMT route, the delegation visited the port of Alyat to familiarize themselves with the port’s terminal facilities and discuss prospects for implementing joint logistics projects that will serve as key links in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM) and create synergies among the key logistics hubs of China, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan, thereby contributing to the expansion of transport infrastructure capacity and an increase in freight volumes along the route.
Another important part of the visit was a meeting with Vugar Mirzazade, Deputy Head of the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON). The two sides discussed the further development of cooperation and the creation of a unified cargo flow management system. Special attention was paid to the synchronized development of the two countries’ logistics infrastructure, the expansion of port capacity, and the development of the fleet. The need for dredging work in port waters to ensure the ability to accommodate large-tonnage vessels was also discussed.
