Uzbekistan and Singapore are expanding their trade and investment cooperation

On 28 August, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took part in a signing ceremony for bilateral documents as part of the visit by Senior Minister Li Xianlong of the Republic of Singapore.

Uzbekistan and Singapore have signed a document to commence negotiations on establishing a free trade regime. This opens up prospects for expanding mutual trade and improving market access conditions in both countries.

Agreements have been finalised with the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise regarding the development of special economic zones, drawing on Singapore’s experience and expertise.

An agreement has been signed in the food industry involving Wilmar International and Indorama. Plans are in place to organise the production and processing of vegetable oils in the Tashkent region, followed by the development of the feed base and poultry farming.
