According to Report, citing the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, this was announced by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev at a meeting with Tajik Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda in Bishkek.

The talks took place during the first meeting of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Intergovernmental Council. Kasymaliyev stressed that developing cooperation with Tajikistan remains one of the country’s foreign policy priorities.

According to him, in 2025, the parties’ efforts were focused on restoring and intensifying trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, improving the socio-economic living conditions of the population in the border areas, as well as further deepening cooperation in all areas.

Kasymaliyev noted that last year, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $36 million, an increase of almost 24 times compared to the same period in 2024.

Rasulzoda, in turn, emphasised the importance of holding the first meeting of the intergovernmental council and confirmed Tajikistan’s readiness to implement the tasks set and further strengthen cooperation. The parties discussed the development of cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.
