Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Kevin Hamilton, the NATO Secretary General’s new Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, the PM’s office informs.
First, Pashinyan congratulated Hamilton on assuming this position, and highlighted the importance of Armenia-NATO cooperation and close dialogue in contributing to strengthening security and stability in the region.
Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed the Armenia-NATO partnership agenda. In particular, they touched upon the prospects for the development of cooperation, as well as the effective implementation of programs in areas of mutual interest.
Also, PM Pashinyan spoke about the process of democratic reforms being implemented by the Armenian government, and emphasized the importance of consistent cooperation with international partners in terms of developing institutional capacities and strengthening the country’s resilience.
During the meeting, views were exchanged also on the regional security environment, current challenges, as well as efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability.
Kevin Hamilton, for his part, noted that NATO values partnership with Armenia and is ready to continue cooperation in domains of mutual interest.
