In recent years, Uzbekistan has been steadily strengthening its position as one of the most dynamically developing economic players in Central Asia. The results of 2025 and strategic guidelines for 2026 show that the country is building a sustainable development model based on high growth rates, active investment inflows, structural modernisation of the economy and expanded cooperation with international partners.

At the end of 2025, Uzbekistan’s GDP exceeded $145 billion for the first time in history. According to official forecasts, the country’s GDP will reach $167 billion in 2026, confirming the continued high dynamics of economic development and the sustainability of the current economic model.

For comparison, Kazakhstan’s GDP reached almost $300 billion at the end of 2025, which is almost twice that of Uzbekistan. However, it is Uzbekistan that is currently demonstrating the highest economic growth rates in the region, which strengthens its role as one of the key drivers of regional development. The difference in the scale of the economies is offset by the rapid dynamics and qualitative structural changes taking place in the Uzbek economy.
