President of Uzbekistan: Realizing the Potential for Economic Partnership with Malaysia is Important

On June 23, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of Energy Transition and Water Resources Fadillah bin Yusuf in Tashkent.

The Malaysian delegation is on an official visit to Uzbekistan to hold bilateral talks and participate in the United Nations Public Service Forum held in Samarkand. During the meeting, the parties discussed the comprehensive expansion of Uzbekistan-Malaysia relations within the framework of the agreements reached during President Mirziyoyev’s high-level visit to Kuala Lumpur in February 2024. The recent intensification of mutual contacts, visits, and cooperation was welcomed. The parties emphasized the need to fully realize the existing economic cooperation potential. In particular, they reached a consensus on actively advancing cooperation projects in priority areas such as trade, innovation, green energy, oil and gas and chemical industries, geology, water management, electronics and semiconductor industries, health services, human resource development, and the development of religious and historical tourism.
