The long-standing friendship between Thailand and China will be further strengthened by deepening cooperation and mutual interaction in various fields. Experts have stated that this process will make significant contributions to regional growth.
Speaking at an academic conference held in Bangkok over the weekend to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, former Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara emphasized that Thailand-China relations have developed on the basis of mutual trust and shared values, reaching the level of a strategic partnership. Parnpree noted that important steps have been taken between the two countries in recent years, citing the establishment of a dialogue mechanism at the foreign minister level and the entry into force of a mutual visa exemption agreement as significant achievements. He stated that China plays a critical role in the development of Global South countries. Parnpree said, “During this turbulent and uncertain period, cooperation between Thailand and China will contribute to regional peace and development. We should deepen cooperation, especially in environmentally friendly projects and innovative industrial fields, and increase transportation, infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges.”
