U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the TRIPP project (The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) holds “great economic importance for Central Asia” during a working dinner with the region’s leaders. Trump emphasized the route’s strategic importance, calling it a “new road” that passes through “some of the most significant places in the world” economically. He said it would “increase commercial activity on the other side of the Caspian Sea, promoting the development of Central Asian countries.” Trump also referenced the historic peace agreement his administration brokered between Armenia and Azerbaijan three months prior. That agreement, signed in Washington on August 8, includes the launch of the Zangezur corridor (also referred to as the “Trump Route”) to unblock regional communications.
Trump emphasized the importance of the TRIPP project for trade activities and stability in Central Asia.
