US President Donald Trump announced the signing of a decree imposing 10% tariffs on imports from all countries.

According to Report, he posted the relevant announcement on Truth Social on 20 February.

The White House chief said he had ‘signed [the decree] in the Oval Office on a global 10% tariff on all countries, which will take effect almost immediately’.

Earlier, against the backdrop of the US Supreme Court’s decision against the presidential administration’s use of import duties, the American leader said he would impose a 10% duty on all imports into the country. According to him, it should come into force in three days. The head of the White House explained that he would keep tariffs related to ‘national security’ in force.

On Friday, the US Supreme Court ruled that the administration’s imposition of import duties against other countries under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) was an abuse of power. At the same time, the highest court did not clarify whether the US should refund the money previously paid as duties.
