On 30 March, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Laziz Kudratov, met with the Swiss Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Konstantin Obolensky, Trend reports.
According to the report, during the meeting the parties reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.
It is reported that particular attention was paid to the dynamics of mutual trade: by the end of 2025, trade turnover had increased by 84% to $591.4 million. There are 114 companies with Swiss capital operating in Uzbekistan, which testifies to investors’ growing interest in the country.
Priority areas for further cooperation with leading Swiss companies were also identified, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, industrial automation, energy, geology and the mining sector, as well as the food industry.
The parties discussed preparations for the 2026 Tashkent International Investment Forum and expressed their readiness to organise specialised events to present new investment projects.
Following the talks, mutual interest in deepening the long-term partnership and implementing joint initiatives was confirmed.
