At the initiative of the American side, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lasha Daraselia met with US Chargé d’Affaires Alan Purcell, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reported. The meeting took place yesterday at the Foreign Ministry.
During the talks, the US side provided detailed information regarding a decision by the United States Department of State on the temporary suspension of the issuance of certain categories of visas.
US Chargé d’Affaires claimed that the suspension of visa processing for citizens of more than 70 countries, including Georgia, applies exclusively to immigration visas. He emphasized that the measure does not affect visas issued for other purposes.
The meeting also covered bilateral and multilateral issues, as well as current developments in the region.
