Prof. Dr. Mehmet Seyfettin Erol, President of the Ankara Center for Crisis and Political Studies (ANKASAM), evaluated Russian President Putin’s visit to Vietnam and its regional-global dimension for Axar.az, one of Azerbaijan’s leading news websites. In an interview with Axar.az, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Seyfettin Erol emphasized the importance of Vladimir Putin’s visit to Vietnam in the face of increasing US influence in Vietnam. Erol said that Putin’s visit aims to win Vietnam in favor of Russia and increase Moscow’s political influence. Erol also noted that the world has entered a period in which balanced foreign policy is losing its importance and that this process will also have an impact on the Caucasus.
