EU and Central Asia Format Meeting to be held in Ashgabat on March 4

A meeting between the European Union (EU) and Central Asian countries will be held in Ashgabat on March 4. The meeting will address issues such as regional cooperation, security, trade and sustainable development. The event aims to strengthen the EU’s relations with Central Asian countries and deepen cooperation of mutual interest. Country leaders and senior officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan will attend the meeting, while the European Union will be represented by the President of the European Council António Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. The agenda includes the development of joint projects in areas such as energy, transportation, environment and human rights. Security challenges and counter-terrorism in the region will also be discussed. This meeting, which will be hosted by Turkmenistan, is of great importance for strengthening the dialogue between the EU and the Central Asian countries. Both sides agreed that such contacts should continue in order to seize future cooperation opportunities and achieve common goals.
