Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Esedov paid an official visit to Tehran upon the invitation of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. During the meeting, Prime Minister Esedov conveyed the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and congratulations to Pezeshkian on his inauguration as president. In addition, Esedov presented a letter of invitation from President Aliyev and invited Pezeshkian to the COP29 summit to be held in Azerbaijan in November. During the meeting, issues of further strengthening economic, trade and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries were discussed. The sides agreed to advance existing projects and implement new joint initiatives. They also emphasized the need to increase cooperation in strategic sectors such as energy, transport and infrastructure. Prime Minister Asadov’s visit is considered an important step in deepening friendly relations and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran.
