On the sidelines of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, Ambassador Mustafa Ozcan, Director of D-8 Organization, met with Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department, on 20 July 2025, the D-8 official X account said, Report informs.
The meeting focused on the D-8’s ongoing activities and explored avenues to enhance cooperation between Azerbaijan and the D-8 Organization.
Ambassador Ozcan also held a productive meeting with Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan, to discuss potential collaboration in the fields of media and communication.
These engagements reflect the D-8 Organization’s commitment to building strong partnerships and fostering dialogue with strategic stakeholders.
The D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization unites eight Muslim countries. It was founded on the initiative of Türkiye on October 22, 1996, in Istanbul at the Conference on Development Cooperation with the participation of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria and Pakistan. The official establishment of the organization took place on June 15, 1997 at the summit of the heads of state and government of the eight countries in Istanbul. The secretariat of the organization is located in Istanbul.
