Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan held talks on increasing mutual investments, implementing joint projects and strengthening business partnerships. Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov and Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met via video conference, the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan said.
It was emphasized that the political will of the heads of state, high-level visits and regular contacts play an important role in the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. In particular, in the field of investment, it was noted that there is a great potential for the establishment of joint production facilities in the industrial regions of Azerbaijan and Karabakh in the food and industrial sectors. It was stated that work is underway to evaluate these opportunities. A meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company was also held within the framework of the talks. The meeting discussed the promotion of mutual investments and strengthening cooperation between the business community. The sides noted with satisfaction the intensive development of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan economic relations and exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the field of investment and joint projects. While aiming to increase the volume of trade between the two countries and explore new investment areas, joint initiatives are expected to come to the fore, especially in the transportation, logistics, agriculture and energy sectors.
