Following the presidential elections in Belarus in January, the process of forming a new government has officially begun. According to the constitution, the current government submitted its resignation after the elections. President Alexander Lukashenko established a commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Krutoy to form the new cabinet. The aim is to form the new government in a way to preserve the country’s economic and political stability. While the prime minister is expected to be appointed with the approval of the parliament, it is stated that the process will be completed in the coming weeks. The current government will continue to serve until new appointments are made.
