Brazil may turn to using nuclear technology in the military

Brazilian authorities may consider using nuclear technology for military purposes in the future due to the deteriorating international situation, according to Minister of Mining and Energy Alessandro Silveira. He stated that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva currently defends the country’s sovereignty without a nuclear program, but Brazil may need nuclear technologies in the future to protect against external threats.
