Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mesud Pezeşkiyan held a telephone conversation on June 4.
Mesud Pezeşkiyan recalled with satisfaction his official visit to Azerbaijan and the meetings he held with President Aliyev within this framework, emphasizing the importance of the productive consultations that took place. President Aliyev also spoke highly of the meetings held during the visit. During the conversation, it was emphasized that the relevant institutions of the two countries are continuing their work to implement the agreements reached during Pezeshkiyan’s visit to Baku. Among the concrete results of the visit were the resumption of flights between Baku and Tabriz and the increase in flights on the Baku-Tehran route. Confidence was expressed that these developments will further revitalize contacts between the two peoples. During the telephone conversation, it was noted that Azerbaijan-Iran relations have entered a new phase, and hope was expressed that cooperation between the two countries will develop dynamically in various fields through joint efforts.
