Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel and Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev discussed plans for cooperation between the countries in the near future.

This was reported on Wednesday by Trend, citing the embassy.

A. Bayel noted the high dynamics of mutual visits as an important indicator of the intensity of cooperation. Over the past three years, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has visited Azerbaijan six times, and President Ilham Aliyev has visited Kazakhstan five times.

It was noted that on August 8, 2025, an end was put to the long-standing conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. A historic declaration on ensuring peace was signed. Kazakhstan also contributed to the peace process by providing a venue for Azerbaijani-Armenian negotiations in 2024.

“It is symbolic and practical that the first cargo allowed into Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan in 30 years was Kazakh wheat. The parties noted the importance of further unblocking communications,” the embassy said in a statement.
