President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Imangali Tasmagambetov for an official meeting. The two leaders discussed regional security, the fight against terrorism and further development of the organization’s activities.
During the meeting, the role of the CSTO in ensuring stability and security in the Central Asian region was noted. President Dzhaparov said that Kyrgyzstan will continue to actively participate in the work of the organization and stressed the importance of cooperation to achieve common security goals. In turn, Tasmagambetov appreciated Kyrgyzstan’s contribution to the CSTO and expressed his expectations for further strengthening of cooperation in the future. During the meeting, the current security threats in the region and joint solutions to these threats were also discussed. The two sides also expressed that they will work in close cooperation in preparation for the upcoming CSTO meetings.
