Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has accused European bureaucracy and the former Biden administration of the United States of conducting a policy of deliberate pressure and blackmail against his country.

Kobakhidze stated, during a briefing, that the “Global War Party” is using the former Biden administration to overthrow the government in Georgia and establish a foreign-controlled agent regime in its place:
“The Biden administration wanted to convince the Georgian people that the current government has deviated from the Western course. After that, a puppet government that would join the war the very next day was to be established in the country by the hands of those same people.”
According to Kobakhidze, the Georgian people understood this intention in time and showed even greater support for the government in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
“Society realized that it was this government that saved the country from the disastrous consequences of war and collapse. Therefore, our political team gained greater legitimacy in the elections,” he emphasized.
The prime minister also recalled that the US and EU imposed “unjustified sanctions” against Georgia, canceled the strategic partnership agreement signed with the country, and unfoundedly accused Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the Georgian Dream Party.
