Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegset.

According to Report, this was announced by the Polish Deputy Prime Minister’s press office.

It is noted that during the conversation, Washington assured Warsaw that the US military presence in Poland would be maintained.

“The US Secretary of Defence confirmed that the US commitment to Poland’s defence and security remains unchanged. Our military relations are strong, and this was clearly confirmed today. During our conversation, I heard repeatedly that Poland is a model ally and can fully count on the United States. The process of redeploying US armed forces and equipment in Europe is in full swing, but no decision has been taken to reduce the capabilities of US troops in Poland,” said Kosiniak-Kamysz.

According to him, the Pentagon is currently preparing a new plan for the deployment of its troops across Europe. “We have agreed to continue our cooperation in strengthening Poland’s security and developing an optimal model for the presence of US troops in Poland,” the minister added.

It should be noted that there are currently around 10,000 US military personnel stationed in Poland.
