The 25th meeting of the Board of Governors and the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Trade and Development Bank took place in Istanbul.
This was reported by the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
Kyrgyzstan was represented at the event by Mederbek Tumanov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce.
Participants at the meetings reviewed the bank’s performance for 2025, discussed the budget for 2026, the financing of promising projects in ECO member states, and other issues relating to the financial institution’s operations.
Speaking at the meeting, Tumanov noted that cooperation within the ECO is based on the principles of sovereign equality, mutual respect and partnership among member states. According to him, the Trade and Development Bank contributes to the sustainable economic development of the region’s countries, the strengthening of intra-regional cooperation, the expansion of investment collaboration and the implementation of joint projects.
The Deputy Minister also emphasised the important role of development banks in stimulating economic growth, attracting investment and financing strategically important initiatives. He noted that Kyrgyzstan is keen to further expand its cooperation with the ECO Trade and Development Bank and looks forward to stepping up joint projects.
