Against the backdrop of Central Asia’s growing role in world politics, Uzbekistan is actively developing cooperation with European countries. The main focus is on practical cooperation and the launch of joint economic projects. In this context, dialogue with Serbia, with which relations have intensified significantly in recent years, is becoming increasingly important.
An important milestone in the development of bilateral relations was the official visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to Uzbekistan on October 28-31, 2025. It was the Serbian leader’s first visit to the country, which demonstrated the willingness of both sides to move from political dialogue to closer economic cooperation.
During the visit, in the presence of the leaders of the two countries, agreements were signed aimed at promoting and protecting investments, developing economic cooperation, and interacting in the fields of engineering, modern technologies, and artificial intelligence. In addition, a cooperation program between the foreign ministries for 2026-2027 was agreed upon, and a partnership between Tashkent and Belgrade was established. These agreements created clear and stable conditions for business and laid the foundation for the implementation of joint projects.
