Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs and Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios will pay official visits to Japan later this month to attend the World Expo in Osaka, Japan.
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev is scheduled to meet with Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba during his five-day visit, which begins on Saturday, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said. Last year, Japan and Bulgaria celebrated the 115th anniversary of their official relations and the 85th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen will meet with Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Ishiba during his five-day visit, which begins on Wednesday. Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs is also expected to meet Emperor Naruhito during his three-day visit, which begins on Sunday, in addition to attending Expo events and meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister. The Japanese government hopes that the visit will further strengthen friendly relations between Japan and Latvia. Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios and his wife will attend the “National Day” event at the Osaka Expo during their five-day visit, which begins on Monday. The couple is scheduled to meet with Crown Prince Fumihito and Princess Kiko of Japan.
