Romanian Defence Minister Radu Miruță and US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll have signed a document on cooperation in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles and counter-UAS systems.
According to Report, this was announced by the press office of the Romanian Ministry of Defence.
“Romania is becoming the second country in the world after the UK to gain real-time access to the US Counter-UAS Marketplace – a modern tool that provides access to more than 1,600 solutions in the field of counter-UAS, as well as significantly reducing response and procurement times,” said the Romanian minister.
He noted that the country had increased its defence budget in line with its alliance commitments, emphasising the importance of the US military presence and investment in joint projects.
During his visit, Driscoll also held meetings with Romanian President Nicușor Dan and Chief of Defence Staff General Vlad Gheorghiță.
