A meeting took place in Middelburg between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
“I thanked His Majesty for his personal support for Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian people throughout more than four years of fighting against Russia’s full-scale war.
During the meeting, Zelenskyy also spoke about the latest massive Russian strikes on Ukraine, which resulted in deaths in Odesa, Kyiv and Dnipro, with over a hundred people injured across various regions of the country. “It is important to continue supporting our country in every possible way, to make every effort to stop the loss of life and achieve a dignified peace. We will always be grateful to the Netherlands and the entire Dutch people for their support and significant contribution to saving lives,” he noted.
During his visit to the Netherlands, the Ukrainian leader also met with the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Rob Jetten. The parties discussed security issues first and foremost.
“Ukraine has proposed to the Netherlands a format for a special security partnership agreement – our Drone Deal. And this concerns not only drones as such, but also the comprehensive development of all capabilities for air defence: protection against missiles and drones, the development of electronic warfare, and joint weapons production. We have tasked our teams with working out all the details, and we have signed documents marking the start of this work – both on the Drone Deal and on the first joint production project specifically with the Netherlands,” Zelenskyy said.
