Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre have signed a declaration on defence partnership.
According to Report, this has been reported by Ukrainian media.
“Ukraine remains a key priority of Norway’s foreign policy. And today we have signed a joint declaration on strengthening cooperation in the fields of defence and security,” Støre said at a joint press conference with Zelenskyy in Oslo.
According to him, Norway firmly supports Ukraine’s struggle for sovereignty and its right to self-defence.
“But this is not a one-way relationship, but mutual cooperation. We have agreed to work on a strategic partnership between Norway and Ukraine, because Ukraine offers a great deal in return,” the minister emphasised.
According to the document, Ukraine and Norway will take measures to facilitate closer cooperation between the defence sectors of the two countries with the aim of developing new technologies and increasing production volumes. Furthermore, it will now be possible to manufacture Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in Norway. Oslo has also committed to supporting drone production in Ukraine, whilst Kyiv, in turn, has committed to sharing its experience, data and other information with the Norwegian side.
