On September 24, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres. Guterres praised Kyrgyzstan’s rapid development and its role in ensuring stability in Central Asia. Japarov congratulated the UN on its 80th anniversary, reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to the UN Charter, and expressed readiness to cooperate on global challenges. He also invited Guterres to attend the “SCO+” summit in Bishkek in 2026. Guterres welcomed the invitation and expressed willingness to participate. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening partnership, promoting peace, stability, sustainable development, and human rights.
Sadyr Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan aims to actively cooperate with the UN in addressing urgent global challenges.
